Well executed, and Beiks' has outstandingsupport. PowerfulBible study program with the most powerful reference set on the marketas of this writing.
Reader supports multiple open windows, Christ'swords in red in selected versions, extensive hyperlinking tocross-references and notes, and lots of customizing features. That'sunbelievabe language power in your hand. This is the only Bible readeron my Dell. Not an app in itself, but the driver for the Freedom Keyboard. This excellent Bluetooth keyboard makes a great travelingcompanion. It boasts advancedfuzzy logic and neural net techniques.
Worked incredibly well after itsinitial training period. Still not my primary input Fitaly 5 is ,because eventhough recent updates improved the recognition of my illegible writing,my writing still defies digital analysis. Very nice for daily use, and may save you from leaving the house withyour card still in the card reader. A managable encyclopediadatabase that weighs in at about 7MB. Includes just under 17,articles. Not comprehensive by any means, but a good selection ofmaterial in a simple interface.
Lexipedia is my primary reference. Excellent access toyourcontacts right on your Today screen. Implemented as a plug-in toPocketBreeze see below.
Nifty design even has a mode that enableseasy lookup using your fingers, something that I missed from some olderPalm apps. New version increased loading speed of large Contactdatabases significantly. It has a big brother ConverterCE Pro if you need more. Nifty tool to cleanup the word completiondictionaries in the Windows Mobile operating system. I used it todelete some annoying duplicate entries. Nice utility to check your PPC's digitizeralignment.
Supports VGA displays. Good collection of formal medical names forthings, helpful for decoding medical reports. Excellent input system for Palm and PPC. New version supports sophisticated macro capabilities, andnow glossaries like Instant Text. Excellent replacement for the weak built-in WMmessaging program. Supports polling and sending with multiple mailservices simultaneously. Also highly configurable and deletes entiremailbox contents with one step.
Has some reliability quirks that I haven't sortedoutyet, but I like it. Early beta of a pdf viewer. Faster and smallerthan Adobe's offering, but it has a ways to go yet to maturity. Thedesktop version works great, though, and is my default pdf reader on myPC. Google Maps- Freeware from Google. Even gives directions, which PSdoesn't do. HandyShopper3- Freeware by Christopher Antos.
Great database program that's muchmore than just a shopping program. The Yahoo! I used to make my shopping lists in memos. Where HandyShopper shines is in the ability to keep lists by store, track prices and quantity, and reuse itemsfrom lists. Lists can include all items or just the ones needed on thecurrent trip. Support is outstanding, betterthan most commercial software. Can't beat the price.
Still in alphadevelopment, but works fine. Very nice launcher for the Today screen. It's simpleoperation, clean appearance, and flexibility make it a joywithwhich to work.
Latest version supports text tabs very nicely, systemmeters, meters on the task bar, running task icons on the task bar, anda meter bar over the task bar. Itcan also place shortcut icons on the system tray--very handy. Verystable, and now my primary launcher on the Today screen.
Hasn't been updated in a long time. Document, HTML, and image viewer withcompression. Strength lies in its HTML conversions with preservedhyperlinking and its handling of tables.
Documents are compressed, formatted nicely, and with preservedfonts, etc. Iuse its scheduling feature to download the news automatically everymorning. It's databases can be read on both the Palm and PPC platforms. Lexionary- Shareware by Revolutionary Software Front. Nice and compactimplementation of the WordNet lexical database. The taxonomy icons, while saving space, make the program a bit difficult to learn quickly.
But it does work well. Nice implementation of Wikipediafor the PPC with over , articles. Available with a standard MBdatabase truncated to use only the executive overviews from eacharticle, or the full MB database if your card can handle it. Interface is very simple but it gets the job done, and lookup on an SDcard is pretty quick.
Loaded on the SD card. MagicButton -Freeware by TranCreative. Excellent task manager that puts icons forall running programs on the title bar. It also fixes Microsoft's'minimize' behavior on the X button and allows some additionalcustomization of the title bar. I think that it has compatibilityissues with some software, but haven't nailed that down yet. Although Ihave several task managers available, this one is my favorite.
Simplytapping on icons on the title bar to swap apps can quickly becomeaddictive. Also has a nice battery monitor for the title bar. ItriedMagic Button, but it looks strange and needs to be updated for WM 6. However, it does function correctly. Outstanding programmable, scientific, RPN calculatorpatterned after the classic Hewlett-Packardlines which I've used for decades.
The screen is such that you canactually use it by 'pressing' theindividual keys. Creative Creek also makes a non-programmable version for lessmoney. Currently in beta for the PPC platform, it has a ways to go tocatch up with its Palm sibling, but I still love the format andimplementation. Excellent program for downloadingand reading news. It downloads whole articles, has an online catalog, and loads very quickly. I use it every day. Retrieves monthly medical news. Offered for install with Skyscapeproducts.
Excellent soft keyboard replacement forthe Pocket PC. The command button provides the most-used OS functions copy, cut, paste, command, shortcut, undo at your stylustip. Concentrated, well planned keyboard enables minimal hand movement, and tons of punctuation and symbols arereadily accessible. Works perfectly in portrait mode AND landscape. Exideas offers a generous day trial period on the PPC.
This is oneof the first apps that I installed on my Axim! Disabled for now. MetrO- Freeware by F. Slick program that provides directions to get from one location toanother using public transportation in a hostof the world's cities. Very nicely excuted interface, quick searching, good use of color, and accurate directionsmake it a snap to use. Databases are updated regularly.
Great programfor travelers. Very nice music player that also has analarm feature. The alarm let's you wake up to your favorite music. Great English dictionary, thesaurus, phraselist, and acronym reference. It sports a very attractive interface andis simple to use. The dictionary has concise, informative definitions, and the thesaurus is very helpful indiscerning the nuances between similar words. Asgood as these are, the real star of this collection may be the Englishphrase database.
Don't be fooled by thename--it explains a number of common latin phrases and formal names, aswell as colloquial expressions. Almostall other PDA dictionaries use a reduced version of Princeton'sWorldNetlexicon, which is really a sophisticated thesaurus-like psychologicallanguage learning project and makes a lessthan exemplary dictionary even in full PC form. See my more detailedcomments on this database here. I compared a number of popular dictionary programs before settling onMSDict, whose demo is time-limited, fullfunction software.
Mobile Systems' support proved very helpful, promptly answering questions and concerns beforeI registered. Installed on my SD card. Looks great in native VGA mode. Web pages on yourPPC look just like on your desktop, or you can wrap them to fit thescreen. If you surf the web with your PPC, you should take a seriouslook at Netfront.
Very nice collection of English idiomssearchable on key works in each idiom. Excellent reference if you wantto get it just right.
Also available as partof an OxfordReference Suite. See my review here. Installed on mySD card. Super utility to put your X50v into true VGA x displaymode. Allows you to customize your font and control sizes and even makeregistry changes to support different configurations. Works great, butnot all apps support true VGA. Itstores notes as a Windows Mobile database on your handheld, handlescategories beautifully, supports rich formatting, and is fullysupported by WebIS' Pocket Informant PhatNotes also has a niceToday plug-in that works great under PocketBreeze as a custom tab.

Highly customizableand actively supports Pocket Informant and Agenda Fusion. Newerversions support a custom tab, which is where I keep my weatherinformation, plus will display daily forecasts from PocketWeather 2.
